The Contrast for America’s Working Men and Women Could Not Be Clearer
Statement of EDF Action President David Kieve
WASHINGTON, DC, October 18, 2024 – “It’s exciting to see Kamala Harris walk into a UAW union hall in Central Michigan to talk about fighting for good-paying jobs making electric cars, trucks and SUVs, and the batteries that will power them. EDF’s research shows that the path we’re on is working: Michigan has already attracted $21.5 billion in private auto sector investment, which will lead to the creation of more than 20,000 jobs. Most of that has come since the Inflation Reduction Act, which was passed thanks to Vice President Harris’s deciding vote – and which Donald Trump wants to repeal.
“Just this week, Donald Trump derided assembling automobiles as not really building, and something a child could do. Americans deserve a president who respects hard work and the men and women who perform it. That’s not who Donald Trump is.”
