Beware Project 2025: A Roadmap to Climate Peril

Project 2025 is designed for Donald Trump

Donald Trump’s shadow platform, Project 2025, has burst out into the open: a 900+ page authoritarian playbook developed by the Heritage Foundation that could see climate and environmental safeguards dismantled starting on day one of a Trump presidency. Despite claiming he has “no idea” who’s behind Project 2025, Trump met Heritage Foundation president Kevin Roberts in 2022 and said later that day, “They’re going to lay the groundwork and detail plans for exactly what our movement will do” — targeting the Biden-Harris’ administration’s climate and clean energy wins and seeking to eliminate environmental protections that promote public health; privatizing essential weather reporting; repealing the landmark clean energy law that is delivering hundreds of thousands of good-paying, family-sustaining jobs; and much more. There is no mistaking that Project 2025 is designed for Donald Trump and his Big Oil patrons, not the American people.

The Biden-Harris Administration

Trump’s Project 2025

  • Advanced policies to dramatically reduce the greenhouse gas pollution that is harming our health and putting families and communities at risk.
  • Would roll back essential protections for clean air and water and a livable climate.
  • Bolstered scientific understanding of extreme weather events fueled by climate change and publicly-available, real-time weather information.
  • Would defund scientific research and privatize weather reports.
  • Signed a clean energy plan into law that provides $369 billion in investment toward the economy of the future – and already accounts for over 300,000 good-paying, family-sustaining jobs.
  • Would repeal clean energy investments and expand the burning of dirty fossil fuels.
  • Attended the global climate conference where Vice President Harris affirmed U.S. participation in the Paris Agreement, a blueprint for a stable climate and a safer future for our children.
  • Would exit the Paris Agreement — again.
