EDF Action Congratulates Gallego on his Victory in Arizona

EDF Action Votes spent over $500,000 in support of Rep. Ruben Gallego’s elevation to the U.S. Senate

(Washington, DC – November 12, 2024) EDF Action congratulates Rep. Ruben Gallego on winning election to the U.S. Senate from Arizona.

“Voters sent a strong message by sending a climate champion like Ruben Gallego to the Senate,” said David Kieve, president of EDF Action. “Senator-elect Gallego understands the importance to Arizonans of their public lands and the need to protect them and that means fairness around water rights and moving into a clean energy future that keeps the air and water clean. We were proud to support Gallego in his election and welcome his principled and bipartisan leadership on climate solutions for Arizonans.”

In September, EDF Action Votes launched a $500,000 Spanish language TV ad campaign supporting Rep. Gallego over Kari Lake. Then in October, EDF Action Votes launched a $120,000 joint mail program supporting Gallego with the Community Clean Energy Coalition, the C4 partner of the Solar Energy Industries Association.

EDF Action PAC also contributed grassroots support to mobilize climate voters in Arizona, including deploying organizers from EDF Action and Clean Air Moms Action to help Senator-elect Gallego and other federal candidates win election and recruiting volunteers from among EDF Action’s membership.
