EDF Action Congratulates Whitesides on his Victory in CA-27

EDF Action Votes ran a digital ad campaign supporting George Whitesides’ election to the U.S. House

(WASHINGTON, DC – November 12, 2024) EDF Action congratulates George Whitesides (CA-27) on winning election to the U.S. House.

“Voters sent a strong message by electing George Whitesides to Congress,” said David Kieve, president of EDF Action. “Representative-elect Whitesides understands the reality and the science of climate change and the need to protect his constituents from its harmful impacts including extreme heat, drought and wildfires, all of which hit close to home. We were proud to support Whitesides in his election bid and welcome his informed leadership on bipartisan climate solutions that benefit his constituents.” 

In partnership with LCV Victory Fund, EDF Action Votes launched digital ads supporting former NASA Chief of Staff George Whitesides over Rep. Mike Garcia. The ads ran in English and Spanish and were part of a $500,000 overall campaign.

EDF Action PAC also contributed grassroots support to mobilize climate voters in California including deploying organizers from EDF Action to help George Whitesides and other federal candidates win election and recruiting volunteers from among EDF Action’s membership.
